  • 2019: Hurricane Dorian – Category 5, considered the strongest on record to hit The Bahamas.
  • 2016: Hurricane Matthew – Category 5, caused significant damage though not a direct hit.
  • 2015: Hurricane Joaquin – Category 4, meandered over the southern Bahamas for days.
  • 2012: Hurricane Sandy – Category 3, passed over The Bahamas before reaching the US.
  • 2011: Hurricane Irene – Category 3, caused widespread damage across several islands.
  • 2004: Hurricane Frances – Category 4, knocked out power and damaged homes.
  • 1999: Hurricane Floyd – Category 4, caused extensive material damage. (Technically falls outside the 20 year window, but a significant hurricane nonetheless)
